Kuvaus

Jesus teaches that our relationship with money reveals our spiritual condition. In Matthew 6:19-24, He contrasts earthly treasures that decay with heavenly treasures that last forever. A generous heart flows from understanding God’s grace in the gospel, while materialism clouds our vision and competes with our devotion to God. True generosity isn’t measured by the amount given but by the heart’s posture. When we treasure God above all else, generosity becomes the natural overflow of a grateful heart transformed by experiencing Christ’s sacrifice for us.   The post Cultivating a Generous Heart [https://lifeconnectionkc.org/sermons/cultivating-a-generous-heart/] first appeared on LifeConnection Church [https://lifeconnectionkc.org].

A Clear Vision of God’s Goodness

Many Christians struggle with confidence in prayer, wondering if God truly hears and cares about their specific needs. Jesus addresses this by teaching us to ask, seek, and knock persistently, using the illustration of earthly fathers who give good gifts to their children. If imperfect human fathers delight in blessing their children, how much more does our perfect heavenly Father want to give good things to His children? The cross of Jesus serves as the ultimate proof of God’s goodness and love. Prayer isn’t about informing God of our needs but learning to live in loving dependence upon a Father who delights to help His children walk the narrow path of discipleship.   The post A Clear Vision of God’s Goodness [https://lifeconnectionkc.org/sermons/a-clear-vision-of-gods-goodness/] first appeared on LifeConnection Church [https://lifeconnectionkc.org].

Judgemental Criticism

Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 7:1-6 addresses the difference between destructive judgmental criticism and wise discernment. The problem isn’t making necessary judgments, but developing a critical spirit that tears others down. Jesus uses the illustration of specks and logs to show how we often see others’ faults clearly while being blind to our own. When we truly experience God’s grace and remember how much we’ve been forgiven, it transforms our perspective on both ourselves and others. This grace helps us see fellow believers as family members deserving love rather than criticism. The world needs Christians who create safe environments of grace where people can encounter Jesus through our transformed lives.   The post Judgemental Criticism [https://lifeconnectionkc.org/sermons/judgemental-criticism/] first appeared on LifeConnection Church [https://lifeconnectionkc.org].

A Hunger For God

True spirituality isn’t about accumulating knowledge, seeking emotional experiences, or performing moral behaviors for others to see. At its core, authentic faith is about what we hunger for most, because we worship what we hunger for most. Jesus warns against performative spirituality in Matthew 6:16-18, where hypocrites fast to gain human recognition rather than to grow closer to God. Biblical fasting is voluntary abstinence from food for spiritual purposes—not rejecting God’s goodness, but saying that having more of the Giver surpasses having the gift. When we authentically hunger for God through practices like fasting and prayer, it transforms us from the inside out and creates a witness that draws others to Christ.   The post A Hunger For God [https://lifeconnectionkc.org/sermons/a-hunger-for-god/] first appeared on LifeConnection Church [https://lifeconnectionkc.org].
