Math Routine Collaborative Podcast
Welcome to the April 2026 Math Routine Collaborative Podcast! This month, Fawn Nguyen joined the group and we talked about and worked through the Visual Pattern routine. During the podcast we talked a lot about how visual patterns have so many different entry points, inspire so much rich thinking and discussion, how much we learn from engaging in working through visual patterns as teachers, and so much more. I am a big big fan of visual patterns and often work through them on my own just to do some rich mathematical thinking and noticing. This helps me learn and be a better teacher educator, and I highly recommend doing the same thing yourself! I am also a big big fan of Fawn’s substack. If you aren’t reading it, you 100% should. She has so many amazing observations through her work with students and teaches and after reading one of her posts, I am always left thinking about something new in my own practice. I’ve linked both the visual pattern site and her substack in the show notes. Sit back and enjoy this conversation with Fawn. She is so insightful - it was a real treat to be able to spend some time with her on a Sunday evening in April!
