Silencing Self-Doubt: How to Reclaim Your True Identity With Danny Pilkington

Welcome to the Personal Development Trailblazers Podcast! In today’s episode, we’re talking about how to silence the voice that says you’re never good enough so that you can find peace in your true identity.  For over 35 years Danny has been doing one thing — helping people get out of their own way. As a Lance Sergeant in the Coldstream Guards he led and trained soldiers to perform under the most uncompromising conditions. As a sportsman he represented his regiment at the highest level. As a coach he has worked with soldiers, athletes and everyday people — thousands of them — helping them unlock what they were always capable of. But his most important qualification isn't his military record or his coaching career. It's what happened after he walked through a pair of iron gates in August 1996 with two suitcases and no idea who he was without a uniform. What followed was the darkest chapter of his life. Drugs. Alcohol. Shame. A man who had protected the Queen, represented his regiment and led soldiers into the unknown — reduced to someone he didn't recognise in the mirror. And then — one morning — he looked in that mirror and decided enough. Not with a plan. Not with a programme. With two questions. Where am I now? And who do I want to be? Those two questions changed everything. And they have been at the heart of his coaching, his speaking and his mission ever since. Danny doesn't do it gently. He doesn't do hand holding. He doesn't tell you everything is going to be okay. He tells you the truth. With the directness of a sergeant major, the empathy of someone who has been at the bottom, and the conviction of someone who knows — absolutely knows — the way back up. His message is simple and uncompromising. Your potential isn't gone. The story you're telling yourself isn't the truth.
