Share Your Thoughts [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2602723/fan_mail/new] We live in a world that celebrates the big, the famous, and the impressive. But God often chooses a different path. In this episode of Scattered Moments, we journey through some of history's most overlooked places—from Bethlehem and Nazareth to Tekoa and Tarsus—and discover how God has a habit of bringing extraordinary things from ordinary beginnings. Along the way, we'll visit the hometowns of people like Abraham Lincoln, Johnny Cash, George Washington Carver, Dolly Parton, and Alvin York, and consider what their stories—and the stories of Scripture—have in common. Perhaps the most important work God is doing today is not happening in a famous city or on a grand stage. Perhaps it's beginning quietly in a small town, a small church, a small act of obedience, or a heart that has not yet given up. Drawing from Zechariah's reminder not to "despise the day of small things," this reflection is an invitation to see your own life, calling, and circumstances through the eyes of faith. After all, God has always done some of His finest work in overlooked places. Scripture: Zechariah 4:10 Take care, notice the scattered moments, and share the grace.

June 5, 2026 | Moments Almanac | Courage

Share Your Thoughts [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2602723/fan_mail/new] On this June 5 edition of Moments Almanac, we remember two remarkable Christians whose lives reveal different kinds of courage. Saint Boniface carried the gospel into hostile territory and ultimately gave his life for Christ. More than a thousand years later, preacher W. E. Sangster faced a devastating illness that slowly stole his voice but never his faith. Along the way, we reflect on a memorable line from Stephen Charnock, a famous stanza from William Ernest Henley's Invictus, and Paul's reminder that God has not given us a spirit of fear. Join us as we consider the difference between self-reliance and Christ-reliance—and discover the courage that comes from trusting the One who holds our lives in His hands. Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:7 Take care, notice the scattered moments, and share the grace.

Moving in the Waiting

Share Your Thoughts [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2602723/fan_mail/new] Waiting can feel like a prison, a wilderness, a storm, or a silent tomb. In this reflective episode of Scattered Moments, Matt Tullos explores one of the most difficult realities of the Christian life: trusting God when nothing seems to be happening. Through Scripture, prayer, a classic hymn, and an original spoken-word piece, you'll be reminded that God's delays are not His absence and that hope continues to breathe even in the longest seasons of waiting. If you find yourself waiting for healing, direction, restoration, or an answer to prayer, this episode is an invitation to pause, breathe deeply, and remember that God is still at work. Scripture Psalm 27:13-14 (CSB) Featured Quote "To wait on God is the hardest duty in the Christian life." — George MacDonald Featured Hymn Be Still, My Soul Take a few moments to be still, listen, and discover that even in the waiting, God is moving—and so are you. Take care. Notice the Scattered Moments and share the grace. 🌅

June 4, 2026 | Moments Almanac | Churchill

Share Your Thoughts [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2602723/fan_mail/new] On this June 4 edition of Moments Almanac, we remember a day marked by both courage and contemplation. We begin with Winston Churchill's stirring call to perseverance during one of the darkest days of World War II. We then journey to the village of Bethany, where Martha and Mary remind us that while service matters, there is a "better part" found in simply sitting at the feet of Jesus. Along the way, we celebrate the birth of beloved poet Patience Strong and reflect on her beautiful words: "At the gate that swings between this world and the world above, stands the angel of God's mercy with the lamp of love." In a world that urges us to hurry, produce, and strive, today's episode offers a gentle invitation to pause, listen, and receive the mercy that is new every morning. Scripture: Luke 10:38–42; Lamentations 3:22–23 Theme: Choosing the better part—presence before productivity.

Share Your Thoughts [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2602723/fan_mail/new] What happens when we stop focusing on our worries and simply behold the greatness of God? In this guided meditation, we reflect on Psalm 145:5 and the splendor of God's glorious majesty. Together we'll slow our breathing, quiet our hearts, and lift our eyes beyond our concerns to worship the God whose glory fills the earth. Featuring: • Psalm 145:5 • Isaiah 6:3 • Psalm 19:1 • Revelation 5:12 • A reflection from A.W. Tozer How to Use This Meditation: Find a quiet place where you can sit comfortably and minimize distractions. If possible, use headphones. As you listen, focus on your breathing and allow the Scripture readings and reflections to draw your attention away from the demands of the day and toward the beauty and majesty of God. There is nothing you need to accomplish during these moments—simply rest in His presence. Whether you're beginning your morning, taking a midday pause, or ending your evening, may this meditation help you rediscover the wonder of God's glory and the peace that comes from fixing your eyes on Him. "I will speak of your splendor and glorious majesty and your wondrous works." — Psalm 145:5 Take care, Notice the Scattered Moments and share the grace.
