Can a [bible believing] Christian Church endorse a Democratic candidate?

In the old testament, they called the golden calf, the Lord. They were using the name of God, and doing the opposite of what God told them. Is the Democratic Party guilty of this? Can true, Bible-believing Christians, endorse or be aligned with the platform of the Democrat party?
