Kuvaus

Welcome to the very first episode of Tending To My Roots - a personal reflection podcast about slowing down, getting grounded, and intentionally building a life that can truly flourish. In this opening episode, I’m sharing the story behind this project: where it began, why it matters to me, and what you can expect from this podcast moving forward. After a season of burnout, overwhelm, and feeling disconnected from joy, I went looking for a gentler way to grow - one rooted not in pressure or perfection, but in alignment, creativity, and emotional wellbeing. You’ll hear about my “word of the year” journey, how a vision board and a bingo card evolved into a deeper framework I now call ROOTS, and why I chose the mantra “tending to my roots to build a life that can flourish.” I also introduce the heart of this podcast: regular check-ins, honest reflection, and using this space as both accountability and an audio journal of growth. This is not an advice podcast. It’s an experiment in choosing joy, tending to what’s beneath the surface, and learning how to be more content right where we are. The good, the hard, the hopeful - all of it belongs here. If you’re craving a slower pace, more intentional living, emotional grounding, or a way to reconnect with yourself without the pressure to “fix” everything, you’re in the right place. Come sit with me. Let’s tend to our roots together. 🌿 Send a text [https://www.buzzsprout.com/twilio/text_messages/2566148/open_sms]

Episode 2: Processing Community Crisis & The Power of Guided Journaling

In this episode of Tending To My Roots, I’m peeling back the curtain on what it means to find a "flourishing life" when the world outside feels incredibly heavy. I’m sharing a raw and honest look at how recent community crises - including the I.C.E. murders in Minnesota and the increased militarization here in DC - are impacting my mental health. When life feels out of control, how do we keep from bottling it all up? For me, the answer is coming back to the "Complete three 30-day guided journals" square on my 2026 Bingo card. I talk about why I’ve historically struggled with the "blank page," my love for CBT-based structure, and the three specific journals I’m using as anchors: * Be Your Own Valentine (Self-Love) * 30 Days To My True Self (Self-Discovery) * Still Thinking About It (Neurodivergent-friendly journaling from Neurospicy & Co.) Whether you are navigating anxiety, ADHD, or just the weight of the current news cycle, this episode is a reminder that tending to your roots isn’t about perfection - it’s about intentionality. Resources Mentioned: * Mutual Aid & Support: Check with your local immigration groups or school "Safe Passage" programs. * Journaling Tools: Look for guided journals by Grit Journals, Cassandra Wild, or Neurospicy & Co. My Closing Intention: "My intention this week is to let my journal be a safe place for my truth, however loud or quiet I need it to be." Episode 0: Welcome to Tending to My Roots

Tending to My Roots is a personal reflection podcast documenting one woman’s journey of slowing down, getting grounded, and intentionally building a life that can flourish. Inspired by a year-long “choosing joy” framework, each episode offers honest check-ins, small wins, setbacks, and lessons learned across five areas of life: way of living, meaningful work, health and well-being, creative expression, and relationships. This is not a self-help podcast or a guide on how to get your life together. It’s an accountability practice, an audio journal, and a space to reflect out loud - without perfection, productivity pressure, or performative growth. If you’re navigating change, rebuilding your foundation, or learning how to tend to your own roots at your own pace, you’re welcome to listen along.
