In which divine gifts cleanse sorrowful wounds and mighty warriors assemble anew, casting aside strife to embrace the call of battle with armour shining like stars above the plain. Achilles, girded in god-forged gear, kindles fierce desire for vengeance, driving his chariot forward while fate whispers solemn truths upon the wind.

The Iliad Book 18

In which the mighty Achæan Achilles mourns the loss of his dear comrade Patroclus, and his sorrow stirs the gods to intervene, leading his mother Thetis to seek wondrous armour wrought by Vulcan to restore his strength and glory. Meanwhile, the tide of battle swells around the ships, the Trojans debate their counsel, and the gleaming armour of Achilles is fashioned with exquisite artistry, adorned with scenes of life and strife that prophesy the fates yet to unfold.

In which the fierce contest rages around the fallen Patroclus, as valiant warriors on both sides strive mightily to wrest his body from the grasp of the foe, each seeking glory and honour amid the din of battle.
