The Declaration of Military Accountability
The T7 crew return in the new year to discuss the Declaration of Military Accountability. If the military can brazenly violate the law and subvert the constitutional rights of service members are sworn to protect without consequence, what are those oaths worth? Check out the declaration at militaryaccountability.com [https://militaryaccountability.com] and feel free to sign the petition if you're so inclined. Though the initial signatories of the declaration are all service members and veterans, everyone is welcome to sign the petition.
Discussing Peter Singer's Take on Animals
First off, the subject matter for this one is intense, viewer discretion is advised. The start of Edmund Howe's article in the Journal of Clinical Ethics says it all. "Peter Singer, a leading philosopher who advocates animals' interests. expressed views on human/animal sex in an on-line book review. He said that while he didn't regard bestiality as "normal or natural," he didn't find it necessarily offensive" to our status and dignity a human being. He said this to highlight what he sees as many humans' hypocrisy regarding the treatment of animals: they are outraged at human/animal sex, when no one, ostensibly, is harmed. Yet these same people may show no concern when thousands of animals suffer needlessly every day." (https://www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi... Accountability
Join us as we delve into the role accountability plays in society. We all seem to agree it is essential, but why? What are the consequences when people can't be held accountable? What does it mean for government, policy, and AI? John's Cryptocracy is relevant, as is Grant's Modeling Maximum-Tent Morality which explore how to deal with a lack of accountability among the governing class and moral principles that can facilitate greater accountability to ourselves and each other respectively. https://barsoom.substack.com/p/cryptocracy https://radicalamerican.substack.com/p/modeling-maximum-tent-morality
