Beskrivelse

The followers of Jesus are not called to retaliation, rather, they are called to be patient with those who disagree with them with the hopes that God will grant them the ability to know the truth (2 Tim 2:24). In this episode, we discuss why Christians will not direct hatred or death threats towards the organizers of the Paris 2024 Olympics. Many in our culture Idolize their bodies, even Christians

In the last days, we are told many will be lovers of themselves (2 Tim 3:1-2). Our culture is obsessed with the self, even Christians. In this episode, I am joined by Dr. Obed Kwame Adjei, a hematology and oncology fellow. We discuss the beauty and limitations of the human body. Is age just a number, or it actually determines how long you have been around. Will scientists succeed in the anti-age campaign or will physical death eventually win? With these questions looming, how ought we handle our bodies without idolizing it, knowing that our lowly bodies will be transformed (Phil 3:21). Descriptive/Prescriptive Passages: One Way To Misinterpret Scripture

There is no doubt some passages in the Bible describe events (descriptive) while others are direct commands (prescriptive) from the biblical authors to us. These are observations one cannot miss from reading the Bible. However, any suggestion that we are to obey or live by prescriptive and not descriptive passages is misleading.  In this episode, we break down how the biblical authors tell us what to do without directly telling us what to do through descriptive passages. We are to obey them and form doctrines out of them. Descriptive passages are different styles of communication compared to prescriptive ones.
