Structural Inequality| The system that creates a barrier for many

In today's episode, I am joined by my co host Ladan where we delve into structural inequality and what that means for people from underrepresented backgrounds. This system of privilege prevents some groups of people from obtaining resources to better their lives and ultimately, creates more obstacles when trying to progress in their careers.

Today's date is with Romany Francesca, a black woman who founded Rare Select Models in 2017. Her experience of being on photoshoots as a photographer exposed her to the harsh realities of the modelling industry and how white dominated it was, leaving no room for ethnic minorities. This then led to her starting her agency where diversity and inclusivity is central to her brand DNA.

Introductory episode to a date with diversity!

Welcome to the date with diversity podcast! I wanted to create a space where open and honest conversations are had about equality, diversity and inclusion. I am a young black woman (23 to be exact) and I believe it is important to discuss what people from diverse backgrounds are often faced with in their careers as this is the only way to bring about change, by understanding and empathising with other people's experiences. So, I have decided to start a podcast to create a safe space for not only guest speakers but also myself to talk about diversity in the workplace and being your true self 100% of the time.
