Jon Forster is an actuary that is a former MMA fighter.  He wrestled in college at Rutgers before starting his career at Rutgers.  With the demands of his job and exams, Jon said he was out of shape.  As a result, he decided to pursue a career in MMA fighting. Hear more about his path from wrestler to actuary to MMA fighter and how he is applying that to his current actuarial career.

Episode 6 - Kim Stoddard

Actuaries in the Wild highlights actuaries who have ventured from their desks to explore their passions beyond the traditional Actuarial Realm.  Kim Stoddard is a volleyball coach at Scarborough High School in Maine.  During her 5 years as head coach, she has won a State Championship and has advanced to the State Semifinals every season.  And her job as a volleyball coach led her to her first actuarial job.

Actuaries in the Wild highlights actuaries who have ventured from their desks to explore their passions beyond the traditional Actuarial Realm.  Melissa Huenefeldt has run 19 marathons in 12 states plus many other races.  She started running with her sister in 2014.  We talked about how she got started and how she has combined this with another one of her passions: her love of craft beers.
