Aging (R)Evolution
Dr. Melissa Alemán is a Graduate Director for the Communication and Advocacy Master’s Program at James Madison University. She has done extensive research in multicultural caregiving and family communication. Recently, she was the keynote speaker at JABA's inaugural Embrace Every Season, a speaker and lunch event in support of JABA programs and services. There, she discussed the importance of caregiver stories and family communication. In this interview with Phil Estes, she discusses what led her to her research, her findings, and what caregivers can learn from one another. JABA (Jefferson Area Board for Aging) is a private, non-profit Area Agency on Aging serving adults (60+), adults with disabilities, caregivers, and community members of all income levels in Central Virginia.
