A podcast-ed deep dive into the films of Agnès Varda, one feature (and a few shorts) at a time

Happy birthday, Agnès Varda! To celebrate this May 30, please welcome back the stellar Susan Huyett as we discuss Varda's tribute to her neighbors in "Daguerréotypes." We also discuss her follow-up "Rue Daguerre in 2005" and her thematic precursor, "L'Opéra Mouffe."

Joined by the wonderful filmmaker and new friend Courtney Bush to discuss two defining works from Varda's California chapter: Uncle Yanco (1968) and Lions, Love (...and Lies) (1969). So much to unpack in both films, but we kept the conversation relatively short and sweet because we know your time would be better spent watching these movies!

Dearest Billy Thegenus joins me to discuss the collaborative film "Far From Vietnam," as well as Varda's political shorts "Salut les Cubains" and "Black Panthers."

I am joined by the wonderful Susan Huyett to discuss Varda's complex and charged "Le Bonheur," as well as her lesser sung films "Les Créatures" and "Elsa la Rose."

Special guest Yen Pham and I discuss the justly beloved "Cléo from 5 to 7" in depth, as well as its nested short "Les Fiancés du Pont Macdonald" and the follow-up documentary "Cléo: Remembrances and Anecdotes."
