Yesterday, we received news via Deadline [https://deadline.com/2024/08/one-tree-hill-sequel-series-sophia-bush-hilarie-burton-netflix-1236073973/] about a One Tree Hill reboot coming to Netflix, with Hilarie Burton Morgan, Sophia Bush and Danneel Ackles producing the series and reprising their roles from the OG. Of course, we had to record an emergency podcast to unpack this! We chat about our complicated feelings about this. Will it do the characters justice? What about Haley? How would it continue if some of the original cast were not to return? How are they navigating the fact that He Who Shall Not Be Named will get credit? We’re ready to PAR-TAY at the Scott house! In our discussion of S4E14: Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers, we unpack Dan’s motives in getting close to Lucas and Karen, Nathan’s visit to Deb in rehab and our conflicting feelings about what he says to her, Leyton’s healthy and trusting relationship, and Peyton and Brooke’s slow reconciliation.
