For over thirty years, his work has focused on what helps people face disturbing situations — in their own lives and in the wider world — in ways that nourish resilience and wellbeing. He is the co-author of Active Hope (with Joanna Macy, published in 18 languages) and the author of Seven Ways to Build Resilience. Originally trained in medicine and psychology, and later working for many years in mental health and addiction services, Chris now teaches and coaches internationally, mainly online, with participants from over 78 countries.
