Sent Into My Sphere Of Influence | Sent | Week 3

You might call it chance. God calls it placement. In Acts 17, Paul walks into a city full of idols and instead of retreating, he shows up in the marketplace, day after day, with “those who happened to be there.” No platform. No podcast. No book deal. Just presence. And an entire city couldn’t stop talking about him. In Week 3 of our series “Sent: Everyday Witness in Everyday Life,” Pastor Brett unpacks Paul’s three rooms: his faith community, the marketplace, and the public square — and shows us how to recognize the arenas of influence we’re already standing in. Because you’re not waiting to be sent. You’re already in your assignment. The best way to share what you’ve tasted isn’t a post or a t-shirt. It’s letting people taste it for themselves. Discussion Questions: 1. Where’s your “agora” — the place you keep running into the same people without ever making an appointment? (The gym, the sideline, the breakroom, the group chat, Zippy’s...) 2. Read Acts 17:16–17. Paul was “greatly distressed” by the idols in Athens — but instead of ranting or retreating, he showed up daily in the marketplace. What does that response teach us about the heart of a witness? 3. Read Colossians 3:17. “Whatever you do, whether in word or deed…” What part of your life do you tend to treat as “not spiritual” — work, hobbies, errands — and what would it look like to do that part in Jesus’ name? 4. What most tempts you to keep your faith private — fear of awkwardness, feeling disqualified by your past, not knowing enough Bible, an inconsistent season? Be honest about which one is loudest for you right now. 5. “I spent less time preaching to them. I spent more time being present with them.” What’s the difference between preaching at someone and being present with them — and which do the people in your life experience from you? 6. Pull out your Three Set Free card (or write down three names right now). Which agora do you see each of them in? Pick ONE move for this week — offer to pray, invite them to something, tell them why you go to church, or simply show up with eyes open. Share your one move with the group, and pray for each other’s three names before you leave.

What if the reason evangelism feels so awkward is that we've misunderstood the assignment? In this message from our Sent series, Pastor Chad starts somewhere unexpected, your favorite food spot,  to uncover a simple truth: we share naturally what we believe is worth sharing. Anchored in John 10 and John 20, this message reframes evangelism not as selling a product but as sharing a Person, and not as condemnation but as invitation. We were never meant to be the cure; we're witnesses who simply point and say, "come and see." You'll be challenged to ask whether you're actually experiencing the full life Jesus offers, or quietly settling for a full schedule and an empty life. You'll walk away with three concrete steps: find your lane, name your three, and go say the words that changed everything for you. Discussion Questions: 1. Chad opened by asking about your go-to food spot — the place you can't stop recommending. What's something (a restaurant, a show, a product) you've "evangelized" for lately?  What made it so easy to tell people about it? 2. In John 10:10, Jesus contrasts the thief who comes "to steal and kill and destroy" with His own promise of life "to the full." Chad pointed out the Greek word here means overflow, not just "enough." Where do you see the thief's strategy of subtraction showing up in ordinary life — not through disaster, but through busyness and distraction? 3. Chad named a hard tension: "full schedules hiding empty lives." Be honest with your group — does your current season feel more like surviving or actually living? What's one area where you've quietly settled for a full calendar but an empty tank? 4. The message asked a direct question: do we actually believe Jesus is worth sharing? When you're honest, what makes it harder for you to point someone to Jesus than to recommend a good meal? Is it fear, uncertainty, past baggage with "evangelism," or something you've never really named out loud? 5. Chad's challenge was to "name your three" — three real people in your life who don't yet know the life found in Jesus. Who are yours? Share their names to your group if you're willing. Then, based on the three "lanes" mentioned (relational, prayer and power, and mercy), what's one small next step you could actually take toward one of them this week?

Sent by Jesus into My Everyday Life | Sent | Week 1

Jesus hasn’t just placed you in your life; He has sent you to it. Living on mission entails loving and blessing others, building relationships with them, and eventually inviting them into the “Kingdom of God.” There are  many ways to witness. Sometimes it does feel daunting, maybe you’re unsure or maybe we’ve made this much more complicated than it is. OR maybe you feel like you’ve BLOWN your witness and so there’s some feelings of unworthiness. Over the next few weeks and into the rest of our lives, Holy Spirit is going to lead us into places, into conversations, into relationships where we get to be intentional about loving people to Jesus - Intentional to witness! This isn’t just on Pastor Renee’s shoulders, guys! This is all of us. If you are a Christ follower, let me encourage you, YOU are called to go out on mission! AND mission is everywhere. Discussion Questions: 1. Have you ever witnessed to someone about your faith in Jesus?  2. Does witnessing come easy for you? Why or why not?  3. Share or write down 3 times God showed up in your life and start practicing your witness!

The Power Of A Fatherʻs Blessing | Fatherʻs Day Sunday

Words carry the power of life and death—and most of us are still carrying both: the sentence that built us up years ago, and the one that still stings. In this Father's Day message, Pastor Chad makes the case that most father wounds are actually word wounds—something that was said, or something that was never said. Through the ache of Esau's stolen blessing in Genesis 27 and the voice that tore heaven open over Jesus before He had done a single thing (Mark 1), we meet a Father who chose us before the world was made and still speaks a better word over our lives than anything ever spoken against us. You'll leave with a simple, Spirit-empowered tool—the ABC Test—for making sure the words you pour out bring life instead of taking it. Because the words that may have broken you don't have to be the last word. Discussion Questions: 1. The message opened with two questions: a word someone spoke that built you up and that you still carry, and a word that stung and is honestly still in there. Which one came to mind faster for you—and why do you think that is 2. We looked at two sons: Esau, who showed up and the blessing simply wasn't there, and Jesus, who received the Father's blessing before He had done anything to earn it. Be honest—which story are you living out of more right now: Esau's (earning, proving, performing) or Jesus' (already chosen, already loved)? 3. Pastor Chad said most father wounds are word wounds. What's a word you've spent years trying to outrun or prove wrong—or a word you've been quietly waiting most of your life to hear? 4. We were given the ABC Test (Affirming, Biblical, Christlike) and a charge: go home and say the thing. Who is the one person the Holy Spirit is highlighting for you—and what is the specific sentence you've been holding back that you're willing to speak this week?

Empowered To Pour Ourselves Out In Service | Poured Out | Week 4

Our human condition gives us the tendency to live our lives according to what’s best for ourselves.  When we become Christians, the Holy Spirit turns us outward and empowers us to live lives marked by loving service to one another. Spirit-empowered service is the natural overflow of a life increasingly surrendered to the Spirit, who is himself always moving outward, always giving, always other-centered, and who is forming that same character within us. The Holy Spirit gives us spiritual gifts to serve our church community and these gifts are meant to benefit others, not ourselves. Our role as Christians is to choose to serve others with the gifts that the Spirit has given to us for the sake of the common good.  When this happens, the entire church community is loved and cared for Discussion Questions:  1.
