Live Well not Just Long June 2 2026

Right now, the average life expectancy in Australia is about 84 years for women and 80 for men — one of the highest in the world. Sounds good, right? But here’s the catch: the average number of healthy years — free from major disease or disability — is significantly lower. In many cases, people are spending the last 10 to 15 years of their lives battling chronic illness, loneliness, or struggling with mental decline. So, what does it really mean to live well? Shouldn’t we be focused on quality of life not just length of life ? Let’s look at three pillars that determine not just how long we live, but how well: Mental Health: Depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline are rising — not just in the elderly, but in young adults as well. What can we do to strengthen resilience, connection, and purpose? Physical Health: Sedentary lifestyles, poor nutrition, and stress are eroding our well-being — even as medicine extends our years. But are we just adding time, or are we adding life to those years? Social Connection: Study after study shows that loneliness is as dangerous to our health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. Relationships matter — not just for happiness, but for survival. So today, let’s ask the bigger question: Are we living long, or are we living well? And what can we do — practically, personally, and collectively — to build lives filled with energy, connection, and purpose Our guest today is someone who is focused on these questions And more ………. Courage to Change may 26 2025

Plautus, the ancient Roman playwright of the 3rd-2nd century BCE Said "Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than the fear. More recently but not in our lifetime the great artist Vincent Van Gogh said "What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?" About the same time and across the ocean Mark Twain Said   "Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear." And just for fun I’D like to tell what John Wayne said during my lifetime  "Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway." - John Wayne It’s fair to say that Courage is one of the keys to a happy productive life . There is little doubt that most of our regrets on our deathbed are not the things we did do——- but the things we did not do —— or even try out of fear or lack of confidence . One person who has committed herself to help in this area , reach their full potential and help others live happy fulfilled lives joins us here today . Lisa Infante is a Mindset Therapist Hypnotherapist, and Accountability Coach - and the founder of the Courage to Change Collective

En fantastisk app med et enormt stort udvalg af spændende podcasts. Podimo formår virkelig at lave godt indhold, der takler de lidt mere svære emner. At der så også er lydbøger oveni til en billig pris, gør at det er blevet min favorit app.
