Xi, who is also Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, will deliver an important speech at the event, which will begin at 10 am at the Great Hall of the People. At the gathering, outstanding Party members, Party workers and primary-level Party organizations from across the country will also be honored. The event will be broadcast live by China Media Group and xinhuanet.com. On Monday evening, a concert was held at the Great Hall of the People in downtown Beijing to celebrate in advance the 105th anniversary of the founding of the CPC. They joined about 3,000 people to watch the performance, titled Putting the People First. The concert, consisting of five sections, featured choral performances, orchestral music and other artistic expressions. It concluded with the song Without the Communist Party, There Would Be No New China. The CPC was founded on July 1,1921.
