What better way to (we dare say "finally") close this prideful June and this FOURTH season of DBSP? Benny Skinner, aka Bennydrama, has been entertaining us since we have an instagram account. This time, he gave us a TV show that finally portrays a struggle rarely truthfully represented: getting of the closet. That closet.  The icons introduced in Overconpesating made their way to our hearts quite fast, so we'll need a second season. Why dedicate an episode to the least Pride-coded movie ever during Pride Month? Because we love a challenge, and the truth is, we actually really liked it. It’s an undisputed instant classic: a real coming-of-age story set against a backdrop of secrecy, quiet violence, and ruthless power plays. Honestly? It's hard not to think this movie is cool. Although still unclear whether Babylon is a love letter or a suicide note to cinema, this episode certainly is a love letter to Damien Chazelle. It may have flopped at the box office, but it entered the top 4 in our Letterbox by the end of the first scene.  A jazz-soaked fever dream of old Hollywood excess, topped with Margot  Robbie, Brad Pitt and Diego Calva. And we were happy to do it. Until reality hit us all at once: we might end up jobless because of AI.  How will this period go down in history? Are technological advancements more important than social ones? Given the impossibility of getting our hands on the movie Sinners—despite our increasingly desperate attempts—and the fact that it’s Flavia’s birthday today, we decided to throw our plans out the window and treat ourselves to a good old-fashioned Blunt Sesh.
