Peaches Geldof: Fame, Trauma, Addiction and a Tragic Death
This week on Dead Famous, we examine the life and death of Peaches Geldof.
To some, she was the ultimate celebrity wild child: glamorous, controversial and seemingly addicted to life in the spotlight. To others, she was a thoughtful, intelligent young woman trying to build an identity beyond the enormous shadow cast by her famous family.
Born to Bob Geldof and Paula Yates, Peaches grew up surrounded by fame, tragedy and relentless media scrutiny. After losing her mother at just eleven years old, she spent much of her life navigating grief, public judgment and the impossible expectations placed upon her by both the press and the public.
In April 2014, Peaches was found dead at her home in Kent at the age of just 25. Her death shocked Britain and reignited difficult questions about addiction, celebrity culture and whether some people are ever allowed to escape the stories written for them.
In this episode, we explore Peaches' childhood, the devastating losses that shaped her, her rise as a writer, model and media personality, and the events that led to her tragic death.
This is the story of fame, grief, identity, addiction and a young woman who was often misunderstood.
