After two abortions as a young teenager, Janice became a weekend user of alcohol and drugs, not realizing that the abortions drove her to self-medication. Her daughter was born prematurely, and she heard the enemy say that it was her fault because of her abortions. When she got pregnant again, she sought an abortion again because her heart was so hard. God stopped her from going through with it, but she was very detached from her baby during pregnancy and after he was born. When he was two years old, she returned to church. God started to pull on her heart and heal her.

She left the clinic alone and rode the bus home. She got pregnant the following year and had a saline abortion, without her parents' knowledge. "I was really messed up".
