When kids are young there are many things you can do to talk over them or talk with your spouse in a way where your kids don't understand. Maybe you spell things out to one another or talk in code some other way. Those days are gone with our older kids. They understand everything now. And they are smart enough to ask questions when they don't. So, where do you draw the line at explaining things your kids have questions about vs. sheltering them until they are older and ready?
