The Holdovers (2023)

Alright all you rancid Philistines, hormonal Vulgarians and fetid Layabouts. It's time for the Cinephiles to dive deep and dirty into Alexander Payne's wintry tour de force The Holdovers. A movie that will change you just as it does our main character Mr. Hunham. Come bear witness to the motley crew of Paul Giamatti, Dominic Sessa and Davine Joy Randolph as they holdover for the holidays and go on a ramshackle journey of self-discovery. It's hilarious, heartwarming and full of exquisite vocabulary for the troglodytes in your life. Night and the City (1950)

It's Noirvember again. Which means a shadowy wild ride through the black and white streets and alleys of Film Noir. This month the Cinephiles dive into the underrated gem from 1950 Night and the City.  Starring the great Richard Widmark and the gorgeous Gene Tierney this film tells the tragic frenetic story of American hustler Harry Fabian trying to make it big in the wrestling underworld of London by any means necessary. Join us on a dark rainy winter night as we delve into this powerhouse of a movie full of classic film noir characters. Hear about Gene Tierney's tragic Hollywood story and the blacklisting of director Jules Dassin. It's time for some crackling Grindhouse horror! The Cinephiles return with a vengeance! Join the guys as they delve into Robert Rodriguez's 2007 action horror comedy schlock fest PLANET TERROR. A movie that is NOT FOR EVERYONE but for those select few who like their movies dripping with sleaze, gloriously gory, hilariously campy and genuinely shocking.  Whether it's a one-legged go-go dancer, the best damn BBQ cook in Texas, a very dysfunctional family of doctors, a sheriff whose comatose wife farts like a pack mule, a couple of crazy babysitter twins or the one who goes by...El Wray. This episode has it all and will leave you so full of grime and goo you'll need a shower afterwards. Proceed with caution and enjoy the moist discharge of pus from a pulsating abscess on the asymmetrical expanding head of a freshly infected zombie. We're gonna eat your brains and gain your knowledge!

The Eiger Sanction (1975)

It's time for Clint Eastwood's James Bond mountain climbing movie. In honor of Clint turning 95 join the cinephiles for one of the most unique, entertaining and un-PC movies he ever made. It's a spy movie, it's an adventure movie, it's a racy drama (literally), it's a man vs nature epic survival story. It's Clint giving the funniest one-liners of his career with a host of colorful characters, spectacular locations, death-defying stunts and a dog named, well we'll let you find out.  Come have some 70's fun which would never be allowed today as Clint searches for the bad guys, seduces the ladies, contends with Mr. Dragon and takes George Kennedy up on top of the Totem Pole for a beer.  Ladies and Gentlemen....we bring you The Eiger Sanction!
