Hope As Disciples

episode Hope As Disciples cover

Beskrivelse

Paul names God as the source of hope, the only place in the New Testament where God is described this way, and prays that believers would overflow with it, filled past their own capacity to contain it. That overflow doesn't come from circumstances, theological clarity, or spiritual discipline. It comes from the Holy Spirit, already at work whether or not it can be felt. Peter grounds that hope in history: it's a living hope because it's tethered to the resurrection, an event that already happened and cannot be undone. The inheritance it points toward cannot decay, be corrupted, or fade, and it's being kept and guarded by God himself. You aren't maintaining your faith. God is maintaining you, by a power that doesn't fluctuate with your circumstances or your doubts.
