episode The COMMON Magnesium Mistake cover

The COMMON Magnesium Mistake

If you think that magnesium’s not working, you could be taking it wrong. Find out about the common mistakes people make with magnesium supplements. There are so many benefits of magnesium—it's the most important mineral, so make sure you’re taking it correctly. Watch this episode next: Reset Your Body in 5 Days (With Zero Food) [https://open.spotify.com/episode/4oKZ046rIAE3zwxDb06ZaO] 0:00 Introduction: Magnesium benefits 0:23 Magnesium deficiency 0:54 Magnesium deficiency causes 2:10 Magnesium glycinate 4:09 Magnesium sources 4:21 What if magnesium’s not working? Magnesium is involved in hundreds of biochemical reactions that help prevent common problems such as atrial fibrillation, high blood pressure, insomnia, heart disease, leg cramps, and fatigue. Many people are magnesium deficient, but it’s almost impossible to test! Only 1% of your magnesium is in the blood—the rest is inside the cells. Some common causes of magnesium deficiency include: •Genetic weakness •Low stomach acid •Prediabetes or diabetes Magnesium depends on vitamin D, which many people have a genetic problem with. Vitamin D deficiency inhibits the proper function of magnesium in the body. You need a minimum of 10,000 IU of vitamin D daily. Magnesium glycinate has an 80% absorption rate and also helps with sleep. Magnesium controls calcium, so you likely have excess calcium if you're magnesium deficient. Too much calcium causes cramping in the calves, high blood pressure, and arrhythmias. Smoking, alcohol, soda, refined sugars, starches, and certain medications can all contribute to a magnesium deficiency. Leafy greens, pumpkin seeds, chocolate, and nuts are the best food sources of magnesium. You won't see results if you don’t give magnesium enough time to work. It takes at least 1 to 3 months to see results from magnesium. Digestive issues like constipation or diarrhea can greatly affect your ability to absorb magnesium. Chronic stress and exercise can increase your magnesium requirements. You can increase magnesium absorption by spreading your doses throughout the day rather than taking it all at once. Try drinking apple cider vinegar mixed with water to acidify the stomach and increase magnesium absorption. What if you ate plant-based meat for 2 weeks? Discover the truth about fake meat. 0:00 Introduction: Is plant-based meat “clean meat”? 0:45 Updated evaluation of red meat and cancer 1:50 The True Health Initiative 3:07 Plant-based meat 5:15 Check out my video on the benefits of real meat! In this video, we’re going to talk about plant-based meat. Plant-based meat is marketed as clean meat. People are gravitating to these fake meats because of claims that real meat causes cancer and other chronic diseases. The studies that were used to draw these conclusions were food questionnaires and observational studies. Out of 800 studies on the topic, researchers claiming that meat was bad only focused on 17. An evaluation of the studies linking red meat to cancer by the Annals of Internal Medicine concluded that the evidence linking red meat consumption to cancer and cardiovascular disease is too weak to recommend that we eat less of it. New guidelines say we don't need to change our meat habits. No significant link between meat consumption and heart disease, diabetes, or cancer has been found. Plant-based meat is full of ultra-processed ingredients like seed oils, soy, modified food starches, and GMO ingredients. Claims that plant-based meat is identical to real meat are completely false. Metabolomic studies have shown key differences in 171 out of 190 compounds in fake meat compared to real meat. #keto #ketodiet #weightloss #ketolifestyle Thanks for watching! I hope this explains some of the problems with plant-based meat so you can better determine the right dietary choices for you. I’ll see you in the next video. episode The 10 Most Harmful Food Additives on Earth cover

The 10 Most Harmful Food Additives on Earth

These dangerous food additives are designed to get you hooked! Find out about the hidden toxins in your diet that could be taking a serious toll on your health. Avoid these ingredients by any means necessary! Watch this episode next: Reset Your Body in 5 Days (With Zero Food) [https://open.spotify.com/episode/4oKZ046rIAE3zwxDb06ZaO] Chapters: 0:00 Introduction: The most dangerous ingredients in the world 0:23 Why are these toxic ingredients so addictive? 3:06 10 deadly ingredients in processed food 6:00 Seed oils and your health 12:05 Download the Dr. Berg app! How do they turn cheap, toxic ingredients into a highly addictive food? The worst food ingredients often have the following components: •Devoid of protein •Create a blood sugar spike •Artificial flavorings •MSG •Manipulated texture •Good mouth feel •Bliss point •Signals the release of dopamine •Pleasure when eating Avoid the following toxic ingredients, often found in ultra-processed foods. 1. Trans fats Some foods still contain trans fats. This ingredient is even worse when combined with refined carbohydrates. 2. High fructose corn syrup This synthetic sugar goes straight to the liver, contributing to a fatty liver and insulin resistance. Sweet drinks made with alcohol cause significant liver damage and affect the brain, nervous system, and heart. Seed oils exacerbate this problem. 3. Sodium nitrate This is a preservative found in bacon and hot dogs, and it becomes increasingly toxic when heated. 4. Fried potatoes/burnt toast Adding heat to a starch creates toxic byproducts such as aldehydes and acrylamide. These toxic ingredients cause inflammation in the body. Starch or sugar combined with protein creates AGEs, harmful byproducts that damage your arteries, eyes, kidneys, and brain. 5. Artificial sweeteners Artificial sweeteners have a toxic effect on the body, especially the microbiome. 6. Glyphosate Glyphosate is patented as an antibiotic and classified by the WHO as a probable carcinogen. 7. MSG Monosodium glutamate affects the hypothalamus in rats, causing them to overeat and become obese. This ingredient can make low-quality food taste better than it really is. 8. Phosphate This stimulant can contribute to arterial calcification, especially if you don’t have enough vitamin K2. 9. Potassium bromate This ingredient is a bread conditioner and is classified as a probable carcinogen. 10. Synthetic flavoring The ingredient “flavoring” consists of hundreds of chemicals used to manipulate your sense of taste. Chronic consumption of artificial flavors can dull your appetite for real food. Thanks for watching! I hope you’ll avoid these dangerous food ingredients. I’ll see you in the next video. --- Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices [https://megaphone.fm/adchoices]

We Have to Eat Bugs & Insects to Save the Planet - Dr. Berg

Are insects the sustainable food source of the future? Find out if eating bugs will save the planet. 0:00 Introduction: Should we eat bugs? 0:47 Are bugs a good alternative protein source? 2:11 Bugs vs. beef 2:35 Insects and pathogens 4:12 Check out my video on what you SHOULD be eating for your health! In this video, we’re going to take a look at edible bugs as an alternative protein source. Some say that we should be eating bugs by 2050 because of the growing population. Some blame climate change or claim that beef is not sustainable and that we need to find other sources of food. One hundred grams of bugs contains about 12 grams of protein, 5 grams of fat, and 5 grams of carbs. If we were to eat insects as food, we’d need to eat 4x to 8x this amount to get enough protein! It could become quite expensive to consume this many bugs each day. The cost of edible insects could be lowered by lowering the quality of what they’re fed, but then the bugs will be less nutritious with less protein. Eating insects would also require people to give up their cultural and traditional foods which is not likely. When you compare bugs to beef, insects do not come close in terms of protein or nutritional value. Insects also carry pathogens. A 2019 study evaluated several cricket farms that were developing edible insects. Around 81% of the crickets had parasites and 30% were potentially pathogenic. There's also a higher incidence of worms, viruses, bacteria, and fungus in crickets. If you have an allergy to shellfish, you may also have an allergy to edible insects because they contain a similar protein. Bugs have an exoskeleton mainly composed of chitin which is an antinutrient and can not be digested by our microbiome. Chitin also blocks vitamins A and E. #keto #ketodiet #weightloss #ketolifestyle Thanks for watching! I hope this increases your awareness about the reality of eating insects. I’ll see you in the next video. Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 59, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting.
