With a compact design and impressive 40.2 megapixel resolution, this fixed-lens camera caught my attention as I sought a smaller, more manageable alternative to my usual Canon gear for travel. I’ll share my journey of switching from a DSLR to this more portable option and why it has worked surprisingly well for me on short trips.  However, no camera is without its flaws, and I'll be candid about what the X100VI lacks—like its fixed lens which can be restrictive and a menu system that’s not quite as intuitive as I'd prefer. I reflect on my experiences with the camera, the balance between its strengths and limitations, and how I ultimately decide which gear to take on my adventures.
