Each of them left an echo. This episode is for them. She locked the door behind her. She turned on the lights, the radio, the air conditioner. She answered phones as late as 10 AM. And then she was gone. Her car was found locked in the parking lot. Her purse and keys were missing. Her uneaten lunch was on her desk. The radio was still playing. And a romance novel lay open to the only violent scene in the book — a passage about abduction.
