episode God Can't Use You the Way He Wants To — Until You Do This One Thing cover

Beskrivelse

You keep asking God what your purpose is. The answer has been in 2 Timothy 2:21 the whole time — and it's simpler than you think. Buddy opens 2 Timothy 2:19–21 today — Paul writing to his mentee Timothy — and breaks down the one thing that determines whether God can use you as an instrument for special purposes or not. It's not your gifting. It's not your calling. It's not how long you've been walking with God. It's whether you're standing on truth or stumbling on lies. In a large house there are articles of gold, silver, wood, and clay. Some for special purposes, some for common use. But the key isn't what you're made of. It's whether you've cleansed yourself from the latter — the sin, the compromise, the garbage that weighs the spirit down. Do that, and the verse says you will be made holy, useful to the master, and prepared to do any good work. That's it. That's the whole thing. Buddy also names the lie that keeps men searching for purpose their whole lives without finding it: follow your heart, heal yourself, love yourself. If you could have done that, you would have done it already. The Word is the only thing that's actually true — and standing on that truth is the only foundation that doesn't shift. Paul mentored Timothy. Buddy mentors his community. Every man who thinks he doesn't need a mentor is standing in spiritual pride — and spiritual pride is the reason you can't see what God is trying to show you. "Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the master, and prepared to do any good work." — 2 Timothy 2:21 🔔 Subscribe and hit the bell — new devotional every weekday morning. 📖 Men's Bible study tonight 8PM EST. episode Shame Is Why You Can't Hear God's Voice cover

Shame Is Why You Can't Hear God's Voice

Shame Is Why You Can't Hear God's Voice You haven't stopped hearing God because He stopped speaking. You stopped listening because shame convinced you that you were too dirty for Him to even want to. That's the lie. And it's the first thing the devil attacks — not your behavior, but your access. If he can make you believe you're disqualified, you stay in the dark. You stay out of your purpose. You stay silent when God is trying to speak. In today's Fire Reads, Buddy breaks down 1 John 1:9 in the original Greek — and what you find there is not a command to beg. Homologia — the word for confession — literally means "to agree." You're not confessing to convince God to forgive you. You're confessing to come into agreement with what He already said: that you are forgiven. Past, present, and future. Because of the blood. Not because of how hard you prayed. The guilt you carry isn't conviction — it's accusation. And the moment you agree with what God says over you instead of agreeing with what the enemy says about you, shame loses its voice. And God's voice gets loud. This is Day 1 of a 4-day series on how to hear God's voice every single day. Stay with it. It builds. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."— 1 John 1:9 🔔 Subscribe and hit the bell so you don't miss the rest of this week's devotionals. 💬 Want to go deeper? episode Rejected On Earth, Rewarded In Heaven cover

Rejected On Earth, Rewarded In Heaven

What if the very thing people have been using against you is the exact thing Jesus calls you blessed for? Buddy opens the Sermon on the Mount today — Matthew 5:10–12 — and breaks down rejection in a way that's hard to unhear. Most people spend their whole life trying to be understood, accepted, celebrated. But Jesus never promised that. He said blessed are you when you don't conform to the pattern of this world — and that the people who reject you for it are doing exactly what was prophesied of every prophet before you. This isn't about being persecuted for being difficult, prideful, or "too religious." It's about what happens when truth — which is Jesus — starts to live through you, and darkness reacts to the light. Buddy breaks down why the devil's only real weapon left is attacking your identity, because he can no longer condemn what's already been made righteous through the blood. There's a long game and a short game. The short game is the offense, the rejection, the need to be understood right now. The long game is the reward — and the peace that comes from knowing who you are doesn't shift with what people think of you, or even what you think of yourself. Buddy also shares a personal revelation from VousCon week — on two and a half hours of sleep, reading John 14:6, and understanding for the first time why Jesus is called "the truth" before He's called good, faithful, or just. Truth is the standard underneath all of it. "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven." — Matthew 5:11–12 🔔 Subscribe and hit the bell — new devotional every weekday morning. 📖 Co-ed Bible study Saturday at BOXR Miami. episode We Baptized 17 People and Watched a Man With Brain Damage Sleep Through the Night: Post VousCon cover

We Baptized 17 People and Watched a Man With Brain Damage Sleep Through the Night: Post VousCon

We baptized 17 people. A man with brain damage who hadn't slept more than four hours a night slept through the whole night after. And I almost missed all of it because I believed I wasn't good enough for community. Buddy comes back from VousCon Miami — five days with 75 people from around the world, demons manifesting and being prayed through, physical healing, and the most transformative week of his life — and opens 1 Thessalonians 5 to answer one question: how do you keep the fire from going out when the moment is over and you go back home? The answer isn't a formula. Paul gives it in three lines: rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances. Not because things are good. Because God is always good — and the moment you stop, you're out of the Spirit and back in the flesh. Those two cannot operate at the same time. Buddy also breaks down the word that's been sitting in his life unanswered — and shows why the next word from God isn't always a new one. Sometimes God is just waiting for you to go back and do the last thing He told you. The men's Bible study at BOXR started because Buddy stopped asking for a new word and went back to the last one. And the lie that almost kept him from all of it: I wasn't good enough for community. I was too much of a sinner. No one could relate to me. That's not conviction. That's the devil keeping you away from your deliverance. "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances — for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." — 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 🔔 Subscribe and hit the bell — new devotional every weekday morning. 📖 Women's Bible study tonight 8PM EST. episode My Dad Just Went to Prison Again. Here's How I Still Honor Him cover

My Dad Just Went to Prison Again. Here's How I Still Honor Him

My dad just went to prison again a few weeks ago. And I still honor him. Here's why — and why it's the heaviest thing you'll ever do in the kingdom. Buddy opens Romans 12 today and flips the way you understand honor completely. Most people read "honor one another above yourselves" as a nice sentiment — a call to be polite, to get along, to treat people well when they deserve it. Buddy breaks down why that reading misses the entire weight of what Paul is saying. Honor isn't agreement. It's not enabling. It's not pretending someone is mature when they're not. It's recognizing that every single person — including the ones who have done you the dirtiest — is made perfect in the image of God. And when you dishonor them, you make light of what God placed inside them. You don't just dismiss them. You dismiss the image of God in them. That's the kingdom perspective that freed Buddy to walk in purpose. Not therapy. Not time. Not distance. The understanding that honoring his mom and dad — even when they were still falling, still doing wrong, his dad still going back to prison — was the only reason he was able to steward the community standing in front of him right now. Romans 12:1–2 isn't just about personal transformation. It's the foundation: offer your body as a living sacrifice, renew your mind, and only then can you test and approve what God's will actually is. You want purpose? It's already in that verse. But you can't access it from a posture of judgment. The heaviest thing in the kingdom isn't your unforgiveness. It isn't your bitterness. It isn't your need to be right. It's honor — because honor carries the substance of who God is.
