The First Time Boston Became An Occupied City

On today’s episode of Founded we find out more about the incredibly unhinged James Otis Jr and the way that Samuel Adams found his way to becoming the chief rabble rouser. The royal governor couldn’t call in troops without permission from the council, but turns out he didn’t need to because the crown itself decided to respond to the chaos unfolding in the town of Boston. Writs, Riots And Rabble Rousers

n today’s episode of Founded we’re finding out about what happened in Boston following the news of the Townshend Acts. Samuel Adams was committed to chaos while John Hancock was committed to being a problem for customs officials. The town of Boston was a certified problem for the crown. Many seemed to have a feeling that these conflicts would only escalate but no one seemed to be able to stop it and the decisions made by the crown only seemed to make matters worse. Radicals And Revenue Acts

Samuel Adams was beginning to lose his footing as the leader of the rabble just as parliament was planning to pass more tax acts. These new acts were written by a man who has become known for his glossary term in textbooks, The Townshend Acts. Those acts were created by no other than Charles Townshend. The Man Behind The Misquote: Paul Revere

On today’s episode of founded we’re finding out about Paul revere and who he was when he wasn’t riding a horse at midnight. In fact, we hardly even talk about that part of Paul’s life. As it turns out Paul Revere played a major role in the revolution but often his story is reduced to “guy on horse with lanterns who was also a silversmith”.
