Gennifer Geer, an outreach coordinator for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, is running for city council in Evanston, Illinois. If elected, she would become its first Gen Z and Japanese American member. In our conversation, we chat about her passion for environmental justice, why she sees now as the right time to run for office, and her experiences as part of the Democratic Party of Evanston.
