Teaching English Abroad: The Good, The Bad, and The Funny
Surprise! I moved to Madrid, and this episode will tell you why. Travel influencer Lydia shares her thoughts on NALCAP, the program that brought us to Madrid to be English teaching assistants. Get ready to dive into the world of tortillas (but not the flimsy American ones), lesson plans, and speaking Spanish faster than Usain Bolt! The NALCAP application [https://www.educacionfpydeportes.gob.es/eeuu/convocatorias-programas/convocatorias-eeuu/nalcap/applying-program.html] for the 2025-26 school year is now open until March, so check out the website if you’re interested - and listen until the end for some great tips from Lydia! You can listen to Lydia’s travel podcast, gottacaseofwonderlust [https://gottacaseofwanderlust.com/], and follow her on Instagram @lydiaschultzz [https://www.instagram.com/lydiaschultzz?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw==].
How Noah Kahan Got Me Through College
Do you ever listen to a song and think, "That's exactly how I feel!"? I know the feeling, and I discuss it while reading my contribution to the Afterglow article [https://www.afterglowatx.com/blog/2024/5/18/the-albums-that-defined-our-college-years-class-of-2024] by the class of 2024. Graduating seniors wrote about albums that shaped us throughout college, and Noah Kahan's Stick Season (Forever) was my saving grace during those four years of love, loss, and learning.
Maintaining a Long-Distance Friendship
Love languages, travel plans, and boy stories, oh my! Join me and my long-distance best friend, Ria, as we reminisce and discuss how we stay so close even though we go to college in different cities. This episode was recorded over Zoom in March 2023, when we were juniors in college. At the time this episode was published, we were seniors, but don't remind us of that! We prefer to live in ignorant bliss about our impending entry into true adulthood.
Navigating Life in Your 20s
If you're a twenty-something who feels like everyone else has their lives together, listen up: we're twenty-somethings and don't have our lives together! My childhood best friend and I tackle impostor syndrome, new and old friendships and generational differences.
