I met him almost a year ago and had no idea until recently that he is an Olympic swimmer. When I asked what his day looks like he kept saying the same three things. The pool. The gym. And sleep. Sleep. Not as recovery, not as downtime, as part of the actual training plan. Built in. Protected. Non negotiable. That hit me differently than I expected because most of us treat rest like a bookend, something we do after everything else is finished, not part of how we show up for everything else. This episode is about rest as a responsibility. Not a reward for working hard. A practice, a plan, a superpower. I share the moment I first realized something in me was responding from a place that had nothing to do with the person in front of me. BONUS: When I Changed My Relationship to Fear

This is a quick bonus follow up to Season 2 Episode 5 of Grow with Me by Suhailah: Fear and Freedom (…they go hand in hand), released yesterday May 27th. Fear and Freedom (…they go hand in hand)

🎧 Season 2 | Episode 5 — Fear and Freedom 🌱 I was watching something recently and someone said fear and freedom go hand in hand. If you are going to be free, you are going to feel fear. They come together. That stopped me because my whole life I have been fighting for freedom. Inside mostly. The emotional and mental kind. Freedom from suffering, from fear, from the grip of an early life that required me to fight for my own safety before I even had language for what was happening to me. And I have also felt fear most of my life. So why did it take me this long to put those two things together. This episode is about what happens when you realize that fear showing up does not mean you are off track. It might mean the opposite. Alignment does not mean an absence of fear, it means you recognize that fear comes with it. 💡 We do not get to freedom by eliminating fear, we get there by learning to move with it. And I have been moving with it my whole life. 🎧 Season 2 | Episode 4 - Seek Your Own Counsel 🧘🏾‍♀️🙇🏾‍♀️💡🌱 This past month I could not see straight. So I did something I rarely do...I called in the big guns. This episode is about what it really means to seek your own counsel. And it is not what most people think. It is not about doing it alone. There is no trophy for that Sometimes, no honor in that. It is also not calling everyone you know and outsourcing your knowing to whoever picks up. That is not seeking counsel, that is avoiding yourself. It is getting still enough to hear what you actually need and then being willing and wise enough to follow it whether that guidance comes from within or from the two people who know you well enough to help you see straight. We saved our own selves. Even when it looked like someone else did it. But then we have to walk it out. Seek it and follow it. That part matters too. Hope you enjoy this episode!
