This segment is a part of what went missing form the Full episode 142 when a power outage hit during the live broadcast.: I was sitting nearby and watching my kids participate when I overheard a conversation of a dad with someone else. He was complaining that it's only been a week and already he can't wait for the kids to go back. "We have to find summer camps quick. I don't think we can have them home all the time."Sad, and yet EXACTLY what's wrong with our society and our public education system. Fathers, YOU lead your house. If your child is becoming the kind of person you can't stand to be around. That's on you. If a business owner complains about employees without doing anything to address his complaints about his own company. It's no one's fault but his. Steer and Lead better. Don't know how? That's not an excuse it's an observation. Now set to addressing it. Learn, Adapt, Build better. You OWE it to the ones you're leading to be the leader they can follow. This, "It's only been a week and I can't wait to send him back." statement says more about your, your lack of leadership skills, your lack of patience, your lack of understanding, and your lack of execution than it does about the child. The child is a child. It's your duty to raise your boy to be a man, your daughters to be women, and your children to be adults. It seems parents don't want to be parents, and those who do...are being bullied by the system, frivolous lawsuits, and just downright adult bullying.The real issue is that parents like this want their daycare. I'm just gonna say it. So many parents want to get on with THEIR life and ignore their kids while they hope the system will raise them, and if you take away their daycare they just don't know what they'll do. Even amid the school choice movement - many come out of a system COMPLETELY UNWILLING to shoulder the responsibility of taking charge and walking in their freedoms... not ready to raise their own children....they're just looking for a new daycare program. We need our Home Education Community to embrace these new parents, but to also get REAL with each other. If you look at Connecticut, Homeschooling is facing attacks disguised as "oversight and protection for children"We are in need of a massive awakening of parents everywhere to realize that YOU ARE THE PARENT. The children are yours to raise, and THE WORLD IS YOUR CLASSROOM.
