Episode 3 — Maritza Montañez

Maritza Montañez cares a lot about political activism, comedy, and herself, and sometimes it's hard to balance everything. She talks about work versus private life, activism versus comedy, and all kinds of complex social and political motivations and how we can navigate them and avoid being totally disgusting. Near the end of the session, we hash out what this might mean for comedy. But there's a lot more at play in the world.

Episode 2 — Glo Tavarez

Glorilis "Glo" Tavarez always wanted to be an entertainer, and even though she's entertaining a lot of people on stages, in videos, and in classrooms, she's still struggling to get by. She also talks about being a fat Latina woman in a comedy world dominated by white dudes, and how, at its best, comedy can be a release from a lot of what's fucked up in the world, if those same forces don't fuck up comedy also.

Episode 1 — Justin Grace

Justin Grace has had an exciting life, with all kinds of funny stories, but we don't talk about those. We talk mainly about his difficulties holding down jobs, expressing vulnerability in a confidence-based industry, fitting into hierarchical systems, giving himself credit, and coming from a poor background into a rich kids' world (though he's quick to acknowledge lots of people have it much worse).
