Some performances don't just win games — they write history. This week's Poster Player of the Week is Bigfork senior Hayden Mayer, and it's not hard to see why. In the Class A-B state championship game in Polson, Mayer did it all. He took the mound and never came off, throwing a complete game against a Dillon squad that entered the day with just one loss all season. When Bigfork needed a spark in the third inning, Mayer delivered the biggest hit of the game — a go-ahead three-run double that flipped the score and the momentum. He didn't stop there, adding another RBI later in the game to finish 2-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored. This wasn't a one-game story either. Mayer was a cornerstone of a postseason run that took down three formidable opponents - defending champion Billings Central, Frenchtown, and the unbeaten Beavers - to bring Bigfork its first state baseball championship in program history.
