Finally a rainy morning! But the chainsaws haven't stopped. Learning the art of συμπόνια, compassion, for noisy civilisation, for bureaucrat doctors, for those in too much suffering to listen. Reading more from Ibby E Okinyi's chapter on Walking, in his little bible The Hitchhiker's Guide to Not Hitchhiking. A walk through the many musical & poetic phases of Il Battiato (aka Zio Franco). A Sicilian songwriter and composer, quintessentially Mediterraneo in language, culture, sound, philosophy. From the experimental concept albums of the 70s, to intelligent pop and protest (Bandiera bianca), to the mystical, to rearrangements of classic songs (Plaisir d'amour!), to peripatetic rock and music for opera. At the end, a beautiful Oceano di Silenzio will fall. Stacci bene, caro Franco.
