How to Have Durable Joy

In Philippians 1:12–30, Paul shows us a joy that can hold under pressure. From prison, with critics stirring up trouble and an uncertain future ahead, Paul’s confidence does not collapse because his life is centered on Christ. This sermon explores how durable, defiant joy grows when Jesus becomes greater than our circumstances, our ego, and even our fears.

A Joy-Filled Life

Joy is not found in getting life exactly the way we planned. In Philippians 1, Paul shows us how a joy-filled life grows through gospel partnership - sharing the mission, walking through hard things together, and praying for one another’s growth.

Because of the Ascension...

When Jesus ascended into heaven, His work did not end; it entered a new chapter. Luke 24:50–53 shows us that right before ascending to heaven, Christ blessed His people and prepared His followers for the mission ahead. We are reminded that the risen and reigning Jesus is still at work in our lives today as He blesses us, sends us, and invites us to worship Him.

Witnesses to the Greatest Story

Jesus reminds His followers of the gospel message and calls them to share it with the world. We are not only recipients of God's grace but witnesses of it. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are sent to live and proclaim the good news of Jesus.

Following at a Distance

Peter's denial of Jesus is one of the most heartbreaking moments in Scripture. In this message, we explore the dangers of spiritual distance, the influence of the wrong environments, and how fear can lead us away from faithful devotion. Yet even in Peter's failure, we see the profound love of Christ, who willingly went to the cross knowing our weaknesses and failures, offering grace, restoration, and hope.
