Beskrivelse

Hello! 🎉 New and fun things are coming! Tune in next week to hear about what I've been working on. Still offering a free 20 minute consult call. Book here: https://heidibradfordcoaching.com/free/. You know you want to! Don't be shy. Come talk! Last week, I helped at a young women's youth camp. It was delightful. The transition back to life was a bit rocky, but not nearly as bad as it has been in the past. In the past, I wouldn't know what to do with the angst that often comes from moving from one phase to another. But I know better now. It's just transition discomfort and it's normal. Listen in to hear about my camp week and how to make transitions a bit better. Watch on YouTube here. [https://youtu.be/-1w4E2vk8-A]  Take Aways * Heidi's experience coming home from camp * Have you ever experienced feeling weird and wondering what's wrong when ending one thing and moving on to another? * Often this happens when we're going from structured to unstructured. Sometimes it happens going from unstructured to structured. And it can even happen going from structured to structured.  * It's normal to feel unsettled when shifting from one activity to another sometimes. * What to do: 1. Recognize your in a transition  2. Remind yourself that nothing has gone wrong 3. Ask yourself, "Now what?" * Part of "Now what" is to identify structure within the transition or the structure in your upcoming activity. This brings calm to our mind and body. * It may be helpful to mourn leaving your last phase/activity.  Want more support? ❤️Click here [https://heidibradfordcoaching.com/free/] to talk with me. episode What To Do When Your Routines Are Thrown Off cover

What To Do When Your Routines Are Thrown Off

We all know the feeling... things are going great and then BAM. Something happens that makes interrupts your smooth sailing. Maybe it's an interruption of  your usual self-care routines. Maybe a loved one is sick and needs your care and support. Whatever the disruption, I have a process to help you FEEL GROUNDED in those moments. It leads you to getting back on track whether that means backtracking or continuing "off-track."  Listen in for my 3 Rs to feeling grounded when disruption or interruption happens. This is a simple, 3-step process to follow. You can write the 3 Rs on a notecard and post it around your house if you want to apply this often. The 3 Rs: Recognize. Reassure. Resolve.  Take Aways: 1. Recognize that you're being interrupted or disrupted 2. Reassure yourself. "It's okay. Things like this happen sometimes." Add a deep breath if you're feeling a build-up of emotion (irritation, frustration, anger, etc.) 3. Resolve. Choose that you will back-track and do things as planned OR that you will continue off-track allowing the interruption. Then decide when/how you will get back to your routine, your project, your priorities... whatever is being disrupted at the moment.  *You may need help through life disruptions. Consider talking with a friend, a counselor, a life coach, or a religious leader during this time.   Want more support? ❤️Click here [https://heidibradfordcoaching.com/free/] to talk with me. episode Mother's Day Peace Challenge cover

Mother's Day Peace Challenge

If you struggle with Mother's Day, you're not alone. Today I'll share an idea I had about 10 years ago. It was nearing Mother's Day and I had a desire to show my kids that I appreciated them making me a mother. I chose to buy them each a book for Mother's Day. Listen in to hear my Mother's Day Peace Challenge inspired by that experience. Or watch here [https://youtu.be/DrGKNWZAa8Y]. Take Aways * Review of my episode: A Tribute to My Mom: Things I Wish My Mom Had Known 50 Years Ago [https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/living-well-with-pmdd/id1711099991?i=1000654644977] from May 6, 2024. * Many women have a hard time with Mother's Day. * An AI summary of why some women's don't like Mother's Day:  Some women don't like it because it's heavily commercialized, because it puts pressure on being perfect, it creates extra labor rather than a restful break, it triggers sadness because of strained relationships, personal loss, infertility, or the pressure to perform happily while you are struggling with motherhood. * A few quotes from women in this article. [https://www.bahealing.com/blog-1/four-reasons-people-hate-mothers-day] * When I've struggled with Mother's Day, it was because I felt inadequate, false guilt (or mom guilt), or because I was missing my mom. * One year, I got my kids gifts to celebrate Mother's Day to say: thank you for making me a mom and I am glad to be your mom. * Mother's Day Peace Challenge: Answer this question: What do you want this weekend to look like? Then comes the challenge:  Listen to what your heart or mind answers and if it feels good, do it!  * YOU ARE AMAZING. AS YOU ARE. RIGHT NOW. HUGS! 5 Things No One Tells You About PMDD

Get faster results on your pmdd journey by talking with me.  Click here [https://heidibradfordcoaching.com/free/] to schedule a quick 20 minute conversation. We'll discover your best next step in alleviating your pmdd. 5 Things No One Tells You About PMDD 1. No "one-size-fits-all" solution. Many ways to treat it. 2. YOU know best. 3. You'll still be human. (Even after you find a good treatment, you'll have ups and downs to deal with.) 4. Doctors are not well versed in pmdd. 5. Resilience and Support make the biggest difference. Take Aways * When looking for solutions to pmdd, be aware that a lot of people online are selling something. * What works for them might not work for you. * What didn't work for them might work for you! * To build trust that YOU KNOW BEST, consider what has given you a good result in the past.  * You are going to have emotional roller coasters in your life even when your pmdd is under control. * Learn and utilize tools of well-being * PMDD has been in the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of mental Illnesses) since 2013. Many doctors still don't know much about it.  * Be prepared to say "yes" and "no" to treatments your doctor recommends. YOU ARE THE EXPERT ON YOU. * If you choose surgery, have a total hysterectomy WITH bilateral sapling oophorectomy. This includes removal of the uterus, cervix, ovaries, and/or fallopian tubes. You'll probably need some HRT afterwards. * Dr. Peter Schmidt with the National Institute of Health is looking into the causes of pmdd, the treatments for it, and genetic factors affecting it. * Don't feel guilty for not being able to tap into your usual resilience when your pmdd symptoms are active. This is normal for that time. * Build support systems! This includes you, your husband, your friends, and your family. Watch this episode here [https://youtu.be/c2JgGXEknXc].
