Beskrivelse

For years, I wasn't sure if I would ever tell this story publicly. In this episode of Melissa Unfiltered, I'm sharing one of the most difficult and personal experiences of my life. What started as fragmented memories eventually led me to uncover painful truths from my childhood and make a decision that would set off a years-long journey toward justice, healing, and finding my voice. I talk openly about reporting sexual abuse, navigating a complex investigation, facing resistance from people I never expected, and learning firsthand how difficult it can be for survivors to come forward. I also share why I chose to speak up, and what happened after I did. In breaking my silence, I hope someone else feels less alone in their own journey. If you're a survivor, I want you to know that your story matters. What happened to you does not define you, and your healing journey belongs to you. If this episode resonates with you, please share it with someone who may need to hear it. Thank you for listening and for being part of this community. ~ Melissa Content Warning: This episode contains discussion of childhood sexual abuse and may be difficult for some listeners. 🎧 New episodes weekly. episode Child Predators Are Hiding In Plain Sight cover

Child Predators Are Hiding In Plain Sight

Child predators are not always strangers hiding in dark alleys. According to former Illinois Legislative Investigating Commission Chief Investigator Thomas Hampson, many are people parents already know, trust, and invite into their children’s lives. In this episode of Melissa Unfiltered, Thomas Hampson shares what he learned during an 8-year investigation into child exploitation, grooming networks, online child predators, social media dangers, public school concerns, parental blind spots, and how child predators operate in plain sight. This conversation covers: ‱ How grooming actually works ‱ Why predators target vulnerable children ‱ How social media and smartphones increase risk ‱ Why child predators “groom parents” too ‱ The dangers of unrestricted internet access for kids ‱ Public school concerns and parental rights ‱ How trusted adults gain access to children ‱ What parents should be paying attention to right now If you are a parent, grandparent, teacher, homeschool family, or simply someone concerned about protecting children, this is a conversation you need to hear. The LIES Women Are Being Sold ABOUT MARRIAGE

Have we completely lost sight of what marriage is supposed to be? In this episode of Melissa Unfiltered, I open up about the modern lies women are constantly being sold about relationships, marriage, divorce, social media, porn, dating culture, and what actually destroys long-term commitment. After being with my husband for 20 years and married for 15, I share an unfiltered perspective on: *  Why modern marriages are struggling  *  The dangerous normalization of cheating culture  *  Porn and its impact on relationships  *  Why social media creates problems in marriage  *  Divorce culture and the “I deserve better” mentality  *  Emotional maturity in men  *  Why couples stop prioritizing each other  *  Date nights, trust, transparency & communication  *  Joint bank accounts, phone locations & boundaries  *  Why healthy marriages require work  This episode is emotional, controversial, honest, and guaranteed to spark conversation. Whether you agree or completely disagree, this is a conversation more couples need to hear. 🎧 New episodes weekly. Subscribe so you don’t miss what’s coming next. Asking My Former Foster Care Caseworker The HARD Questions

What REALLY happens behind the scenes in foster care? In this eye-opening episode of Melissa Unfiltered, I sit down with someone who saw the system from the inside - our family’s former foster care caseworker. Together, we unpack the realities most people never hear about: *  overwhelmed caseworkers  *  reunification pressure  *  court system failures  *  foster parent silencing  *  financial incentives tied to visitation  *  traumatized children falling through the cracks  *  why good foster parents and caseworkers burn out  This is an honest discussion about the grey areas, emotional toll, and systemic problems impacting children, biological families, foster parents, and caseworkers every single day. If you’ve ever questioned how children can remain in unsafe situations
why foster parents feel powerless
or why the system seems broken from every angle, this episode will challenge everything you thought you knew. ⚠ This episode contains discussions involving child welfare, trauma, addiction, and foster care system failures. 🎧 New episodes weekly. cover

I Realized My ‘Mom Friends’ Weren’t Real

What if the “mom friends” you thought you had
weren’t real? In this episode of Melissa Unfiltered, I sit down with Francesca (Marathon of Motherhood) to talk about the moment everything shifted - the realization that fitting into “Mom culture” was costing her peace, her identity, and her truth. From toxic Mom groups and constant comparison to public confrontation and walking away from it all, this conversation pulls back the curtain on what so many women feel but rarely say out loud. If you’ve ever felt like you don’t quite fit in
If you’ve questioned the pressure to keep up
If you’ve wondered why motherhood can feel so isolating even when you’re surrounded by people
You are not alone. This episode will challenge the idea that you need to belong and show you what happens when you stop playing the game altogether. 🎧 New episodes weekly.
