MMS and myITforum Memories

myITforum and the Microsoft Management Summit: A Legacy of IT Community and Innovation For years, myITforum served as the heartbeat of the Microsoft IT community. It was an invaluable hub where IT professionals shared knowledge, solved problems, and built connections. It was more than just a website; it was a thriving ecosystem for those navigating the complexities of enterprise IT, particularly in system management and security. One of the defining moments of the myITforum era was its strong connection to the Microsoft Management Summit (MMS). MMS was the event where IT pros, engineers, and Microsoft experts gathered to deep-dive into system management technologies like ConfigMgr (SCCM), Intune, and Windows Server. More than just presentations, MMS fostered hands-on learning, networking, and real-world solutions tailored to enterprise IT needs. myITforum played a pivotal role in MMS by acting as an unofficial but essential companion to the summit. It provided forums for discussion, previews of upcoming content, and a place for attendees to continue conversations long after the sessions ended. Many IT veterans still credit myITforum with helping them build lasting professional connections that shaped their careers. Though MMS eventually merged into Microsoft Ignite, its legacy—along with that of myITforum—lives on in the current IT community. Microsoft’s management technologies have evolved, but the spirit of sharing, collaboration, and deep technical exploration remains strong. Today’s IT pros continue to rely on forums, conferences, and networking opportunities inspired by those pioneering days. If you were part of myITforum and MMS, you might find yourself in this retro video. Were you part of the myITforum or MMS community? What lessons or connections from that era still impact your work today?
