In November 2021, 11-year-old Sylvester Oromoni Jr. left for boarding school like thousands of other Nigerian children. Weeks later, he returned home with severely ill and within days, he was dead. His family alleged that Sylvester had been bullied, assaulted, and forced to consume a harmful substance by fellow students at Dowen College, Lagos.
