When We Book our seats we take time to choose our seats accordingly and unless this is like a medical emergency where the plane needs to rebook you for same day if somebody asks to switch Saying no is Fine even if its a parent asking for a kid Its up to the people when they book the seats to book accordingly if you can't find same seats on 1 plane find another Do not let People Guilt Shame you you worked Hard you paid to fly like everyone else certain situations it's a maybe but most its the fault of the people or family that booked their tickets so plan accordingly and book accordingly.
