The priests are taken from among the people, brought to the door, washed, clothed, anointed, filled, and sanctified—and every step is done to them, not by them. Their consecration reminds us that salvation and sanctification begin with the work of God, not the effort of man. Exodus 29 points us to Jesus, the true sacrifice, the true altar, and the One who sets His people apart. The priests identify with the sacrifice, receive cleansing, and are consecrated for holy service, just as believers now identify with Christ and are made new by Him. So today, read Exodus 29 and remember: Jesus has done the work, Jesus makes us holy, and Jesus sets us apart from the world for the glory of God.
