This Halloween, four ghoulish brews that go bump in the night return to give the Bros a wicked fright. Or at least a wicked buzz. In Halloween fashion, it's time for our first sequel as we once again sample "Sharing Sizes" by Free Will Brewing. We'll discuss each of four beers that certainly aren't related to Twix, Almond Joy, Peanut Butter Cups, and Thin Mints. We'll talk about the changes in each brew as well as what's up with Free Will these days. Alongside the brews we'll be talking about the history of candy and its relationship to trick or treating. A Pretzel, a Pig, and a Baby Baboon take a fantastic ride on a flying balloon and while they pass by a bright Hanover moon they look down and they see...Snyder's of Hanover! This may sound like gibberish, but your Bros are on a fantastical journey this week with Captain Lawrence Brewing Company and their collaboration with Snyder's of Hanover which created Snyder Bier. This marzen style beer certainly tastes like pretzels and we'll talk all about the history of Snyder's of Hanover while we sample this delicious brew. While talking pretzel's we'll also be talking about children's author Kenn Nesbitt who is certainly not as crazy as Shel Silverstein when it comes to the wild world of children's poetry. This week we're sampling Little Baby IPA (The tiniest IPA) straight from Staten Island NYC. Flagship Brewing's IPA gets paired with plenty of Steve Urkel references and discussions of Pizza Rat. Paired with this brew, whether Skip understands him or not, is Jonathan Swift and his most famous of worksGulliver's Travels. We read a brief excerpt explaining how Gulliver winds up as the tiniest of babies in Brobdingnag. Listeners of Prose and Bros, this week we rise against the biggest threat to both women and men of this world. That's right, we're taking down "The Pastryarchy." Duclaw's sweet treat brew divides our hosts as the Bros discuss why Root Beer Floats are either disgusting or amazing, since this version of the Pastryarchy is taking on a decidedly uniquely American form. Paired with this brew we're discussing a classic poem in "A Woman's Labour," by Mary Collier. Quick, what name is synonymous with Role Playing games? If you said E. Gary Gygax, then you paid attention to the title of this episode! Yes, we found a poem by none other than E. Gary Gygax and while it doesn't nearly do the brilliance of this gaming mind justice, it shows that in the end rules were way more beneficial to Gygax's career than poetry ever could have been.
