Beskrivelse

đŸ“ș Whatcha watching lately? đŸ“ș  This week on Queerly Canadian, we talk about Queerness on TV
then and now. A topic near and dear to Rebecca’s ♄! Back “then” (while we were growing up, the 80s/90s), we had to rely on innuendo, on little crumbs of queerness, on comic books or foreign content. Now, we are finally seeing the normalization, the diversity, and SOME realism represented on tv. (With room to grow, still, obviously!) We are just finishing up @heartstoppertv on Netflix. 11. You Complete Me: the "Twin Flames" Episode

What are your thoughts on đŸ”„ TWIN FLAMES đŸ”„ ? You may have run across this term in your queer and new-agey circles, on YouTube Tarot readings, your local cult 😉 (we joke, we joke), or maybe you have firsthand experience. Rebecca and Jenn explore the definition of Twin Flames, and discuss why it might be attractive and why it also rings some alarm bells.  Jenn discusses her brush with what could have been sold as a twin flame relationship, as a Late-to-Lesbian blinded by her first taste of a (toxic) lesbian relationship.  Though we aren't sold nor are we into an idea that could place the locus of power and control outside of one's own agency, we are open to hearing more. Send us your stories, your experiences, your opinions. Follow us on Instagram (@queerlycdn) to join in on the conversation! ---------------------- Resources:  To be honest, I don't know what to tell you. There are so many sites and YouTube Videos with explanations and accounts and so many "origin stories" (from Plato's "The Symposium", to the Bible, to Hindu Shiva/Shakti philosophy, to the answer "it has always been", "God", "it doesn't originate from anything because it is the origin", Elizabeth Clare Prophet from the Summit Lighthouse and The Church Universal and Triumphant...) This article from Wikipedia was interesting about many different philosophies of soul dualism: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soul_dualism About "Twin Flames Universe" - an online community with leaders who abused their power and this concept to manipulate and mislead:  - https://www.vanityfair.com/style/2020/12/inside-the-all-consuming-world-of-twin-flames-universe - Podcast by Wondery: https://open.spotify.com/show/3n640S4GJ93YmoyRnaP2Si?si=45e190b3aaf64be2

10. Never Too Late: The Coming Out Episode, Pt. 2

In our TENTH episode, it’s Jenn’s turn to get vulnerable!  (Sorry it’s been a moment. We swear Jenn wasn’t procrastinating this... Or maybe she was.) As a late-to-lesbian (L2L), Jenn has had her own share of struggles and shame, awakening and rebirth. As unique as each coming-out story is, we know that the relatable pieces make us all feel less alone. Jenn shares her 20+ year process, the lack of self-trust that underlies so many of our stories, and (some of) the awkward moments along the way.  Please share, follow, rate, and comment. We love you. ---------------------- Fave L2L resources: ashfrancecoaching: Lesbian Relationship Coach - https://www.instagram.com/ashfrancecoaching latetolesbian - https://www.instagram.com/latetolesbian queersextherapy: Casey Tanner, MA, LCPC, CST - https://www.instagram.com/queersextherapy
