Episode 9: Laura Carr, Lexington Rescue Mission

As Executive Director of the Lexington Rescue Mission, Laura Carr is in an unique, close-up position to witness to those suffering on the streets of Lexington.  A mission begun by her parents in 2001, Laura is continuing her family's faith work in witnessing and bringing help to those suffering.  Starting in September of 2024, the Lexington Rescue Mission and Isaiah House teamed up to begin offering behavioral health and primary care to those greatest in need in Lexington with the Isaiah House Community Health Center.  IHCHC is a groundbreaking model for healthcare that puts services where it's most needed - for the Lexington Rescue Mission clients and the 40508 neighborhood - where the average lifespan is 11 years shorter than the rest of Lexington.
