Beskrivelse

Hello and welcome to this episode of the Reflecting Jesus podcast, I am Monique Rodriguez your host. Today’s episode will focus on the power of testimony. Beautiful reflections of Jesus can be seen in a variety of testimonial accounts of his mercy, power, and miraculous acts. I’ve chosen this subject concerning testimony because I feel strongly that the testimonies of God’s power in my life must be shared. I cannot take His miracles and grace and keep them as private momentos, but rather shout them from the rooftops in an effort to reach someone who may need desperately to hear them.  I want to speak to those who may need God to show up right now in their circumstance. You are not alone. He does care about you. Even if you think you’re not worthy of His care or time…you are. music by Manuel D. Rodriguez Benjamin's Song (feat. episode 4. Old Habits Die Hard cover

4. Old Habits Die Hard

Today’s episode will discuss how Old Habits Die Hard and how this may create a distorted reflection of Jesus to ourselves and others. I want to BE candidly real with you and not gloss over the hardships and challenges I have faced as a believer in Christ. Many of my issues stem from my past and how my identity was fractured by abuse, negativity and poverty. I wrestle with inner vows of unworthiness, not being smart enough, not having any value, nor being pretty or thin enough, all of which caused me to develop deep insecurities. In addition to these insecurities, my circumstances met all the statistical criteria for the generational cycles of poverty and dysfunction. music by Manuel D. Rodriguez Benjamin's Song (feat. 2. “Smokes ‘N Cokes” Granny

Hello and welcome to this episode of the Reflecting Jesus podcast, I am Monique Rodriguez your host. Today, I would like to share with you a little about my mother, Sylvia –of whom we affectionately referred to as “Smokes ‘N Cokes Granny.” She was a “no-nonsense” kind of person and spoke her mind without any filter, but she could invoke laughter that made you cry and your bellyache.  She loved fiercely and gave freely to help others. Mom loved Coke a Cola on the rocks and cigarettes, and in almost every photo, at least one of these is present. Her favorite T-shirt said, “1 Tequila, 2 Tequila, 3 Tequila, FLOOR.” music by Manuel D.
