Beskrivelse

We have a special guest. Another black man who lost decades of his life to a system that got it wrong—and walked out still choosing to heal, to speak and to help others do the same. He’s a mental health advocate and so much more. His name is Leon Benson and he is an exoneree after serving approximately 25 years for a crime he did not commit. But this conversation goes deeper than Leon. We’re talking about a subject that most people avoid. Populani (the man that made our theme song) who is also incarcerated under false accusations--who went through abuse as a child—puts his truth into music. This episode is about what happens when trauma gets buried, What’s it looks like when it finally comes out and how that ties in to missing men of color. Y’all know how we do it. Raw and uncut. This time we’re cranking up the intensity. Through music. Through men who refused to stay silent-Populani & Leon. If you’ve ever carried something you don’t talk about (man or woman) this one’s for you.
