In this episode i am delighted to be joined by Lauryn Davey. Lauryn is a twenty four year old Welsh heptatlete and medical student, whose dedication to achieving has been at the forefront of both her careers, but alongside these inspirational roles. Lauryn also strives to support others with their mental health both in and out of the sporting and medical worlds and shares with us both her personal journey, and her journey of helping others.

In this episode of Shrinking out loud, I am joined by Rob Hosking, a retired police officer turned motivational speaker. Rob started his adult life with no idea what he truly wanted to do, no necessary direction. He followed suit of his family and joined the police force. After several years of suppressing emotions and hiding his true self, Rob began to recognise his suffering and his story of acknowledging a mental health battle began. Rob opens up about his mental health story and shares how he has come to be a motivational speaker, helping others find happiness and contentment.

Many of us dream of the day we become parents, the day we first get to hear our babies heartbeat, the day we get to tell our loved ones we are having a baby, the day we excitedly grab the hospital bag and go to meet our first born ~ Tragically this dream can be shattered as quickly as it is created. 1 in 4 pregnancies in the UK end in loss at birth or during pregnancy (Tommys ONS). In this heartbreaking episode, in support of baby loss awareness week, and in memory of darling Ruby; one of my dearest friends shares her story. It is Vicki’s hope, along with many others, that conversations, knowledge and awareness will encourage a movement in the right direction of preventing these devastating statistics and support, as best we can, all those affected by baby loss.

In this episode of shrinking out loud, Natalie shares with us her journey of pregnancy. Over half way through Natalie is beginning to prepare for child birth in a small suburb of New Zealand, over three hours from the nearest hospital. Natalie answers how’s she has mentally navigated her way through a surprise pregnancy and explains the mindset she’s practised as a result of being so far from family and medical support.
