SLPs Overseas
In May 2026, I had a chat with Grace, a British SLP living and working in Nelson, New Zealand. Nelson is at the top of New Zealand’s South Island. You might know that the Marlborough wine region is on the South Island. But did you also know that Nelson is home to the “Centre of New Zealand” monument? Well, technically, the geographic centre of New Zealand is about 60 kilometres southwest of Nelson. The monument in Nelson that you can visit today was the starting point for the first land surveys of New Zealand in the 1870s. Grab your passport, pack your bags and get ready to come on an audio adventure to learn what life is like as a British SLP in New Zealand 🇳🇿. You can find Grace on Instagram at thecuriousspeechie [https://www.instagram.com/thecuriousspeechie/]. SLPs Overseas is an independently produced podcast. I record, edit and publish episodes while working full-time as an SLP (and travelling, of course!)
